Meet Our Staff

Ali Imran

Ali is with us for the first time this summer. He is a student at Denison University and he is double-majoring in Anthropology and Sociology, along with and English Literature. He is also picking up a minor in Women’s Gender Studies. He is a teacher at the Northridge site for level two scholars. Ali is an international student from Lahore, Pakistan in the past 16 months that he has been in the United States, he has visited 10 states! His goal is to be a historian in South Asian, sexuality, and gender studies.

Andy Lim

This is Andy's second summer working with the program and first year in the role of site coordinator. Andy will be helming the Johnstown site this summer. Andy is majoring in Secondary Education at Denison University. He likes to work out, used to be nationally ranked in chess, and is a 3 time Midwest Regional Yo-Yo champion.

Anesha Ward

This is Anesha's second summer working with the program. Anesha is majoring in Primary Education and Intervention Specialist at Capital University. She will be teaching a level two class at the Christian Endeavor location. She loves to take naps, do hair, and go shopping!

Cassie Hagerman

Cassie is returning to our program for her second summer. She will be an SLI at the Northridge site. Cassie is a Psychology major at the Ohio State University. Cassie has been on two episodes of Finding Bigfoot, she is a vegetarian, and she has worked at Disney World.

Charlie Britton

Charlie has been with our program for three years. He spent two summers working with us as a junior SLI, but this year he will be taking on his own class of level one scholars. He attends Kent State University for Finance and Pre-Law. Charlie will be at the Par Excellence site this summer. He loves to fish, is a fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers, and he is a graduate of Newark High School.

Chris Wood

This will be Chris' first summer with the Freedom School team. He earned degrees from both Otterbein and The Ohio State University. Chris will be taking on a site coordinator position at the Par Excellence Academy site in Newark, OH. Chris currently teaches middle school math with Newark City Schools.

Dajsha WIlliams

This is Dajsha's second summer working with the program. Dajsha is majoring in Early Childhood Education at the Ohio State University. She will teaching level one scholars at the Christian Endeavor site this summer. Pizza is one of her favorite foods, she loves the color yellow, and she is a huge fan of Beyoncé!

Emily cook

Emily is joining our staff for the first time this summer. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Social Work. She is teaching level two scholars at our Par Excellence location. Emily's birthday will be occurring during her time with the program, she has a key to the City of Newark, and she really loves music and tries to incorporate it whenever she can.

Grace Baker

This is Grace's first summer with our program. She is a student at Kent State University and she is majoring in American Sign Language. She is teaching level one scholars at the Northridge site. Grace is a dog walker, her favorite animal is elephants, and she loves to ride four-wheelers.

Jordan Wolfe

Our Project Director for the summer of 2022 is Jordan Wolfe. Jordan has been involved in the Freedom School program for six years! He is taking classes to earn his certifications in Cyber Security. He used to raise pygmy goats, once caught a barracuda while fishing, and his favorite book series is the Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson.

Jordan Yeck

Jordan is new to our program this summer. She will be teaching level ones at the Northridge site. Her major is Women's Gender Studies at Denison University. Jordan is the youngest in her family, she used to be a cheerleader and dance in musicals, and she loves to paint!

Julia Decker

This is Julia's first summer with the program. She is minoring in Music and majoring in Early Childhood Education at the Ohio State University. Julia will be teaching our level three class at the Christian Endeavor site this year. She has built 6 computers in the past two years, played the part of Julia Gulia in her high school production of The Wedding Singer, and her favorite K-Pop group is BTS.

Kaitlyn Sisk

Kaitlyn is new to our program this year! She is an Early Education major at The Ohio State University. Kaitlyn will be teaching a level one class at Par Excellence. She has been to Disney World four times, can play the flute and piccolo, and she has three cats and one dog!

Kasi Lumbatis

Kasi is joining us for her first summer with the program. She will be a SLI at the Christian Endeavor site.

Makenzie mccomb

This is Makenzie's fourth summer with the Rockin' Cool Freedom School. Makenzie majored in Early Childhood Education at the Ohio State University. She graduated this May, played the flute in the Ohio State Athletic band for two years, and loves watching the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball games.

marie severns

Marie is new to our program this summer, and she is bringing a new position along with her! Marie will be our Project Operations Assistant this summer. She will work closely with our Project Director and serve as a substitute SLI as needed. Marie has seven siblings, a dog named Buddy, a cat named Sushi, and turtles are her favorite animal.

payton pennington

This is Payton's second summer working with the program. This year he will be taking on the role of site coordinator at the Christian Endeavor site. Payton is majoring in Human Nutrition at the Ohio State University. He has been in eleven plays and musicals, collects hats, and his favorite pastime is watching a good movie.

ryan liu

Ryan is joining our program for the first time this summer. He is an Education major at Denison University. Ryan is allergic to baby carrots, has gained 15 pounds in 3 months, and writes in a diary every day. Ryan will be teaching a class of level 1 scholars at the Northridge site.

sara cordle

This is Sara's second summer working with the program. Sara will be at our Northridge site this summer, teaching level two scholars. Sara majored in Inclusive Elementary at Ohio Wesleyan University. She graduated this year, has a cat named Bean, and has a jungle-worthy amount of plants!

shawn caskey

This is Shawn's first year with the program. Shawn attends Denison University and is pursing a double major in Sociology and Anthropology. He is working at our Northridge site as a teacher for level one scholars. Shawn collects enamel pins and pinback buttons, likes ginger tea, and loves cats.
